No 998 Virginia Surry County Sct Irena W alias Irena Wooten daughter Avery Fulgham a white woman was born free as appears by the Certificate of Thomas Harris aged twenty five years of light complexion has a small scar above the wrist on her right arm and is five feet and a quarter of an inch high. The said Irena alias Irena Wootten is registered of the above description in the Clerks Office of Surry County Court this 24th day of September 1849 Teste Wm. P. Underwood cc No 999 Virginia Surry County Sct. Betsy alias Betsy Johnson daughter of Lizzy Johnson was born free as appears by the certificate of James D Long is of light brown complexion has a scar on the right side of her mouth near the chin occasioned by a rising, bushy hair, aged about twenth two years and is five feet seven and a half inches high. The said Betsy alias Betsy Johnson is registered of the above description this 26th day of November 1849 in the office of the Clerk of Surry County Court. Teste Wm. P. 28 No 1004 Virginia Surry County Sct Jordan alias Jordan Clayton, son of Hannah Clayton was born free as appears by a former register obtained from the Clerk of this Court, five feet eight and a half inches high, dark complexion stoutly built, large nose with wide and distended nostrils has lost a part of his left ear occasioned by the bite of a horse, aged is aged forty six years and upwards. Doila alias Doila Smith a mulattoe boy aged twenty one years and upwards, was born free as appears by the Certificate of Allen Warren spare make bright yellow complexion has no marks or scars and is five feet four and three quarter inches high. The said Doila alias Doila Smith is registered of the above description in the Clerks Office of Surry County Court this 28th January 1850 Teste Wm. P. Underwood cc No 1006 Virginia Surry County Sct George alias George Taylor son of Lucy Taylor was born free as appears by a former certificate obtained from the Clerk of this Court which he states he has lost, is of dark complexion bushy hair has a small scar on each wrist aged about 26 years, and is five feet six and a quarter inches high. Underwood cc No 1008 Virginia Surry County Sct Mary alias Mary Jones daughter of Avey Wilson and her husband Peter Jones free persons of color was born free as appears by the Certificate of Angeline Edwards is of brown complexion has a small scar on the inside of the left hand near the wrist, has a small scar on the right hand side of her nose, has a scar on the left foot near the ancle bone aged twenty one years and upwards and is five feet four and ahalf inches high. The said Mary alias Mary Jones is registered of the above description in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Surry this 25th day of February 1850. Teste Wm. 30 No 1010 Virginia Surry County Sct Robert alias Robert Francis (son of Benjamin Francis and Betsey his wife who was Betsey Taylor free persons of color ) was born free as appears by the Certificate of Thomas B Duvill and John W Edwards, is of brown complexion, square build, has a scar on his right arm, between the elbow and the wrist, occasioned has he says, by a burn has a small scar near the hollow of the left foot, aged twenty two years, and is five feet seven and three quarter inches high.
