I think the last names are the same, and to me it looks like "Meriman," but that doesn't appear to have been a known last name in the area at the time. The writing is sloppy in two different ways on the two entries, so I'm leaving both last names as [illegible].
Looks more like Moreman, especially in the second entry. This surname appears as Moorman in other counties.
