This deed made the 8th day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty four between Isabella Williams [Colored woman] of the first part and Frederick J. Beverly and Sarah Ann Beverly wife of Frederick J. Beverly of the second part [colored persons] witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of five dollars to the said Isabella Williams in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for the further Consideration of a support during the life of the said Isabella Williams by the said Frederick J. Beverly and Sarah Ann his wife all her right title and interest in and to a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the waters of Browns Creek in the County of Amhurst and joins the lands of Joseph Caball and others the interest of the said Isabella Williams being one half of one hundred and fifteen acres in the same move or [illegible] and is the same land held jointly with Frederick J. Beverly. Also one sorrel mare, one Black Cow & Yearling calf all her household and kitchen furniture and all other property the said Isabella Williams may be propossed of whether named or not in this deed. County of Amhurst to wit I Robert N Thornton a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid in the State of Virginia do Certify that Isabella Williams (Colored Woman) whose name is signed to the writing hereto annexed bearing date on the 8th day of April 1854 has acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid Given under my hand this 8th day of April 1854 Robert N.
