In Richmond Hustings Court September 15th 1857
On the application of Ann
Saunders, Ellen Rush, and Mary Ann Cooley
who desire to obtain permission to remain in
the Commonwealth and reside in this City, they
being free persons of color, emancipated since the
year 1806; it is ordered that the Justices of
the Court be summoned to attend here on Saturday
next to hear and decide on said applications.
