In Richmond Hustings Court April 16th 1859. On the applications of Robert Huclos and James Turner free persons of color, emancipated Since the year 1806, who desire to remain in this Commonwealth and reside in this City, it is Ordered that the justices of this Court be Summoned to attend here on the 22nd instant to hear and decide on said applications A Copy Teste Ro. In Richmond Hustings Court, May 12th 1859. On the applications of Robert Huclos and James Turner, free negroes, emancipated since the year 1806, who desire to obtain permission to remain in this Commonwealth and reside in this City, it is ordered that the Justices of this Court be summoned to attend here on Saturday next, to hear and decide on said applications. We the undersigned citizens of Richmond, do hereby certify to all whom it may concern, that the free negro man, Robert Huclos, is known to us to be sober, honest and industrious, an efficient and trustworthy servant, and we especially recommend him to the competent Court of this City, for permission to reside continuously in the City.
