CIVILIAN OCCUPATIONS: Lumberjack -- Worked for Paul Mann, Covington, Virginia, for twelve tears until July 1942. Pulled trees, cut and prepared logs for removal to sawmill. Used two man [saw?], cant hook, axe, and peavy. Drove a two ton truck hauling logs to sawmill. Also did all types of work around saw mill, except the operation of electric saws.
