CIVILIAN OCCUPATIONS: Automobile Mechanic Helper: Worked for War Department, Fort Storey, Virginia,
from June 1941 to June 1943. Assisted automobile mechanic in repair and maintenance
of cars and trucks. Greased and oiled vehicles, and washed them. Helped
mechanic in heavy work. Cleaned shop, carried tools and materials. Used screwdrivers,
pliers, wrenches and greasing equipment. Drove truck occasionally on
military reservation only.
