information-about-overseas-service: Went overseas as Captain of M Co. Heavy Weapons Co, 311th Infantry 78th Lightning Division.

Sailed for overseas October 13, 1944. Arrived in England and from there went through France to Belgium and then to Germany. Was killed in [illegible] Cellar Dec 16, 1944 two months after arriving overseas by a long Range gun, while he was attending a staff meeting. Buried in Henri Chapelle Cemetery, Belgium.
