For unto a poore ordre forto yeve
Is signe that a man is wel y shryne
For if he yawe he durst make a vaunt
He wist that a man was repentaunt
For many a man so hard is of his hert
He may not wepe al though him sore smert
Therefore in stede of weping and prayeris
Men mut yeve silvere to the poore freris
His tipet was y farcid full of knyves
