Dear Clarence,

No letter today but am hoping for the picture tomorrow - I am so so lonely for you tonight, my dear one, I have been sitting in the dim light of one of my fancy pink candles ever since supper, thinking about you and home, and have managed to get just a little bit solemncolly -

Mar Van called for me this afternoon and took me to an art exhibit, I did not get home until after six oclock. She is going to write to you soon, she says.

I had a letter from Elcie today telling me how he confided in you

Mallinson is coming to spend Friday afternoon with me; how I wish it was you, upon St. Valentines day; but I shall surely have my photograph to show him by then.

I don't seem to have anything interesting to say to you tonight I have been composing music a good deal lately and my brain consequently gets very much muddled, but I haven't had a headache for ages, isn't it splendid! Darling, I do hope the "Aftermath" will please you, nothing ever quite comes up to our "John." He pictures life so truly, only with the added glow as seen through the eyes of those who

love and apreciate the poetry + purity of life.

I would rather have Lane the author of that book than any queen on earth, but next to her, I would choose to be a woman such as Ursula March, one who should shed the pure light of her life on all around her, making the world better for her having lived.
