again - but there is nothing - & I have
cabled you again. I just cannot explain
how disappointed & ready to cry I feel. I
have been here for a week, & for the last
five days have hardly stopped thinking about
you & looking for a reply. I do hope, sweetheart
that you are not in the same way, & that
my letters & cables have arrived & will arrive.

We have just come to this place for lunch
& then we have to catch a train at 3-0.
So this will not be a very long letter,
but I have wanted to start a letter until
I heard from you. But I shall start
writing to you again as soon as I
get back - there is so much to tell you
about Cairo - & also I have been to Memphis
& Sakkara & Giza to see the pyramids, &
Sphinx, tombs - & mosques - & old Cairo
& the Gojira sporting club - & all sorts of
things. It has all be intensely interesting
& you would have loved every minute
of it.
