Darling one,
I just got your letter - it had been delayed because you put near Chester - instead of near Wrexham. It is very difficult to know what to write to you darling, when you write unhappy letters. I cannot just ignore what you say - & on the other hand there is really nothing I can say that can do you any good at all. I won't try now, but perhaps I will write you a long & serious letter tomorrow evening.
C.P. had to put me off on Tuesday, & so I am going over to see him this evening.
I am meeting Graham in Chester on
p.
Saturday evening - & he has asked me to spend the night with them at the Mather's house, up the Wirrall - but I suspect I shall have to get back here, for church Parade on Sunday morning.
Frank Stanier appears to have fallen in love! Did he mention a Miss James from Wrexham? He seems to have come a heavy lump, & says he does not know what to do about it. I have told him not to be a silly old fool - which rather upset him - but he says he knew I meant it for his good.
I am doing all possible to find the laundry - but there is just no trace at the moment.
Please get better, darling -
All my love & kisses -
Harry.
