such things. Well- he says that he was by no means
sure of my going home before but that now he is
perfectly sure because he told himself that if his
promotion came through on Friday Feb 20th I should
be going home- + it did do. + so I shall be.
We shall see. I am thinking about it all the time
but I feel very unsure. I hope that my last letter
will have arrived before this one + that you will go
+ see the War Office. But I think I have decided
now that if I am turned down again I shall begin
to seek interviews. You may be well darling + making
due allowances, you may be reasonably happy, especially
because of our sweet Maxie- bit I still think you
need me + I do need you so much I must try
+ make these people realise that both you + I have
had more than our share of unhappiness + sadness
to put it mildly.
I must stop this + go to bed + post it tomorrow. Please
tell Maxie that I too think of him a great deal + I
will be a very good dadda when I come home

old, + I have never seen him . But you have told me
that you are telling him about me + I he will begin
to understand soon. He must be a dear + I'm
sure that you need my help. Look after yourself my
darling sweetheart + never forget that I love you
with all my heart + always will do forever. And I am
doing all I can to come home to you. I will begin
