Wednesday. May 30th. 1804.
The society convened, the members were called and the
journals of the last evening were read. Absentees, see, p. 6th
After which, Messrs. Birge and Hurlbut, members of
the sophomore class were admitted into the society.
Mr. Harris, also member of the junior class was admitted.
It was motioned and carried that the reading of Br. Phelps'
dissentation should be postponed till the the next meeting.
Brs. M. Cook and D. C. Hopkins composuists for the next
evening.
Brs Bell, Cook, Hopkins and Huggins are Disputants
for the next evening.
Question for Disputation. Ought the emigration of
Foreigners into the U.S.A. be encouraged by our government?

The question for Disputation "Ought the emigration of Foreigners to be
encouraged by our government" was discussed by Brs Bell, D. C. Hopkins and
