My Dear Friend Rachel Stevens

Hannah Peckham has kindly offered to enclose with a letter which she is writing a note to thee if I wished it, which I gladly embrace to acknowledge thy kindness (for which I am greatly oblige) in giving me the information about our [?] west for I had felt answers it haveing been some time sense I had heard anything from them, and it is a relief to me to hear of Cousin Amy Hoag going to the relief of brother Joseph and his son. They have had a vary trying time in their berieved situation. Isaac Gifford Daughter who is at the School tells me that her mother has been vary sick her life [dispoced?] [of?] but the last account they entertained some hopes of her recovery, thou will

doubtless recalled that they have been traveling in the far west this Summer, and in what part of the Country they were I have not yet learned, no doubt H. P. will tell thee all about the movements of our traveling friend and others here away.

[So?] in that love that has long united our heats togather and still desires thy prayers for me and mine in [your?] [lucky?] situation where thou art favored to approach the Throne of grace theirin, I am as ever thy [Closely?] attached on paper friend

I must finish covering my paper by saying to thee that I have [deleted]been[/deleted] walked over to see H Laurance but she was not able to be seen she has Spasums and the least thing that excites and the least thing M. told me did brought them on. H.P. called a few days before I did and see her which [Merry?] thought was the cause of her haveing a number of spasums in the course of the night
