so thick & bad it sort of stops
circulating- why I have such spells -
they take my strength away wonder-
fully - 6th. day & 7th - did not feel like
taking many extra steps - but was
better yesterday - Geo. carried us to
the beech - as he cannot leave his
store any other day - it seemed
to brace me up very much - I gained
strength fast - ate supper down
there - it realy relished the best of
any meal I have eaten for 3 mo's.
- had clam chowder - fried clams -
boiled fish - fried fish - fried pota-
too - lettuce - cucumbers - radishes -
pie - oranges - nuts &c - I did not
eat [underline]quite[/underline] all the sorts - Suppose I
ought to have been doctored thoroughly
months ago - & not got run down quite
so bad - am afraid twill take some time
to [underline]run[/underline]back again - 6th day I wrote
to H. asking him if he had'nt better
come down and see what to do with
me - 7th day got a letter from him say-
ing he was intending to come - that 'twas
almost singular. Is thee feeling
pretty well thyself? - is Willie gaining
are you all well at home and over
the ridge - are questions I ask myself
a great many times - How many
poor sick ones there are round you -
and so it is whereever we go -

Fare well, dear mother - I shall
try and keep thee imformed of
[underline]myself[/underline] - do not worry about
me - think I should have been
a great deal sicker at home away
from the salt water - bathe in it
once & sometimes twice a day - am
still taking the medicine for do not
know what else to do - perhaps that is
doing the best any thing can - a great
