My dear Cousin

I write thee a few words
partly to return Williams interesting letter
& partly to inform thee of our movements.
Next 4th day is fixed upon for our depar-
ture for Waterloo. Has not our dear Ann
manifested a deep reverence for the memory
of her precious Mother & a profound affec-
tion for her father & brothers in their
desolation by thus stepping into the
place of that Mother & giving so much of
her time from her own household to
putting our home in some condition to
render it more tolerable for its lonely
inmates? May she be abundantly rewarded
by that [power?] which [passeth?] [all?] understanding.
I think I told thee that I was to go with her.
I expect to make but a short visit - 4 or 5 weeks.
I hope thou wilt not fail to come see the
boys whenever thy path leads this way.
