was confined to the bed for some days &
is still limited to the range of the warm
rooms of the house. All the other mem-
bers of the household are in their usually
good health - my own is better than when
thou left us & much better than a year
ago.

Ann has also discharged a long-deferred duty
in making a visit to cousin Sarah Holmes.
She found her in usual health & good spirits
but much more infirm than she expected.
Cousin Nicholas also appears to be on
the decline from an infirmity of the
kidneys. Ann had a charming visit, as
she always used to in her days of childhood
when permitted to visit that house so
attractive always to children.

With love to thee & all of thine in which
the whole household unite I am as
ever thy affectionate cousin
