This lot was part of the Estate of Samuel Thatcher prior to 1786.

His Estate was settled by Mary Thatcher as Adm^x. Administration bond dated July 24. 1786.

Mary Thatcher & al. to Elbridge Gerry Convey a lot of land, containing 52 3/4 ac. 34 rods, bounded as follows, "Beginning at the Northwest corner on the road from Watertown to Cambridge, & running S^y on Elb. Gerry to land of Stone. E^y on Stone to a gate, SE^y on Stone to Charles River, NE^y as the River runs & bounded by low water mark to Richardson's Marsh, then NW^y. on said Marsh to a ditch near the Upland, then N^y as the Upland runs in a crooked line as the ditches and fences originally stood, bounded on Marsh of sundry persons till it comes to a creek, then on land of heirs of Seth Hastings as the fence has originally stood, till it comes to the road leading from Oliver's Wharf to Watertown then on said road to the first mentioned bounds.

Affidavit of the Sale of the above real Estate by Jesse Putnam, one of the grantors. - Recites the advertisements & postings of notices, & that on the day appointed for the sale, April 4. 1793, the said Estate was struck off at public auction to Elbridge Gerry, the highest bidder there for.

Elbridge Gerry dec^d & with intent to foreclose the right of any person to redeem the same
