Sixth. In the capacity of Gardener he shall attend
to the reception & cultivation of plants & seeds, which
may be received at the Garden; and perform all such
duties as may be required for the improvement and
embellishment of the Garden & Cemetery.

Seventh. He shall keep a book in which shall be
entered all valuable trees, plants, seeds and other articles
which may be received at the establishment, designating the kinds
from whom & whence they came, and give with such,
an account of their character & uses as he may be able
to obtain.

Eighth. He shall keep a journal of all work done
in the grounds (of the Garden & Cemetery) & introduce such
remarks & incidents, as may be calculated to present a full
& clean view of the progress made in all the departments,
& of such improvements, as it may be deemed expedient to
undertake, either for the purposes of utility or ornament.
