Gate Keeper _
The choice of a Gate Keeper, and Superinten-
dent's Clerk, and the determination of the compensation
for the duties of the respective offices for the year ensuing,
which were postponed to this meeting, next came up
for consideration.
A motion was made that a Committee of
three Trustees be appointed to inquire into any charges
or complaints made against the present Gate Keeper,
and report thereon at an adjourned meeting: _
And the same being put was decided in the negative.
It was then moved to postpone action on the same
to an adjourned meeting. _
And the motion was put, but not carried.
It was then Voted to proceed to choose a Gate Keeper and
Clerk. _
It was accordingly moved that Mr Truman H.
Safford of Watertown be chosen to those offices, to perform
the duties thereof during the pleasure of the Trustees. _
Pending this, testimonials in favor of Mr Safford were
presented and read.
Chosen Gate Keeper
The motion was put & adopted, and Mr Safford
was declared chosen Gate Keeper & Clerk according to the tenor
of said motion. _
Salary _ of $450. _
It was then Voted that the compensation for the duties
of said offices combined, be at the rate of four hundred and
fifty dollars per annum, for all services rendered. _
