The motion was put and not carried,
Messrs Crocker and Nazro voting yea, and the
President
, Messrs Cheever, Curtis, Gould, Little & Read
voting nay. 2 – 6.

Salary of Gate Keeper & Supts clerk

It was moved by Mr Curtis, ^& seconded by Mr Cheever,
that the salary of the Gate Keeper and Superintendent's
Clerk be five hundred dollars per annum. ~

An amendment was moved by Mr Nazro sec-
onded by Mr Crocker that the sum of four hundred
and fifty dollars be substituted for five hundred,
but the amendment was rejected, two voting in the affirm-
ative and six in the negative.

The motion of Mr Curtis was then put and adopted
by a vote of six to two. _

T. H. Safford chosen Gate Keeper. & Supts Clerk.

It was further moved by Mr Curtis, seconded by
Mr Read, that Truman H. Safford be chosen
Superintendent's Clerk and Gate Keeper for the year ensuing
which was adopted. _

Report of Comee on Grounds, on Improving, filling up [& grading unsold lands _]

The President as Chairman of the Committee
on Grounds submitted a report containing certain
recommendations for filling up, improving and embellish-
ing the grounds of the Cemetery, which was read and
adopted section by section, and then adopted entire,
