Chapel Floor _ : Report of Comee on,
floor to be covered with encaustic tiles
reported _ That agreeably to their in-
structions, they have caused the whole
floor to be paved with English burnt
tiles of various colours, those in the
name or central part being laid in ce-
ment, and those of the sides aisles which
commonly are not exposed to be trod
upon, being laid without cement.
Mr J Story's bill for tiles furnished
to Mount Auburn is $899.89 – from which
is to be deducted $66.48 for tiles used in
tombs built by the Corporation, leaving
to account of Chapel $833.41. The
tiles were laid by workmen belonging
to the Cemetery.

Tax on Stone Farm - Question of referred to Comee
Upon motion by Mr Curtis
Voted that the report be accepted.
Mr Curtis stated that he had
recently been called upon by Mr J. P.
Healy in behalf of the town of Watertown
relative to the right claimed by that town
to assess a tax upon the stone Farm.
It was thereupon Voted that the
questions of liability of this Corporation
to any tax upon the Stone farm be referred
to Mr Curtis, with full power.
