Hearing on case of Supt continued

The Committee also introduced DeForest
Safford
, son of the Gate Keeper, who
testified to conversations; heard by him,
between his father and the superintendent
and harsh words used by the latter
which tended greatly to excite his father,
who had been removed to the insane
asylum. This testimony also elicited the
fact that insanity was hereditary in his father['s]
family.

Votes proposed _

The Committee then offered the fol-
lowing votes and moved their adoption.

"That Mr Mann be required to furnish
forthwith further security to the amount
of one thousand dollars". _

"That from and after this date he be
prohibited from receiving or paying
any moneys for account of the Corporation
or making contracts without the knowledge
and approval of the Committee on Lots", _

"That an assistant Superintendent
be appointed temporarily." _

Pending these, the Board adjourned
