The monthly meeting of the Trustees of Mount
Auburn was held on _
There were present Messrs Andrews, Bigelow, Cheever,
Crocker, Curtis, Nazro, Rand, Read and Tobey.
The record of the last meeting was read. _
Report of Comee of Interments on appointment of a Gate Keeper _
Mr Tobey for the Committee on Interments read the
following report: _
"The undersigned "Committee on Interments" charged
with the duty of selecting a suitable gatekeeper in place of
Mr Safford, would respectfully report the name of
James Derby Jr. as a person suitable and competent
to discharge the duties of that office. They recommend
that he be paid a salary of four hundred
dollars per annum, and the additional sum of
seventy five cents per week to enable him to compen-
sate a substitute whom he shall procure to per-
form his duties as Gatekeeper, one half of every Sab-
bath. Said substitute must (in the Judgment of the Com-
mittee and Superintendent) be as suitable and
competent as Mr Derby.

Upon motion by Mr Crocker,
Voted that the foregoing report be accepted and adopted,
and that James Derby Jr. be chosen Gatekeeper
in accordance with the terms therein stated. _
