Proposed alterations of Art VI of the By-Laws _

Mr Austin gave notice of the following proposed
alterations of the by law relating to the Treasurer, which,
under the rule, be over to another meeting: _

Art. 6th,

in the 1st line, substitute "ten" for "five": _

In 8th line, after the word "Expenditure" strike out six
lines to word "moneys" inclusive, and insert _
"and such bills for incidental Expenses as may
be contracted at Mount Auburn by the Superin-
tendent, or at the office in Boston by the Secretary, as
the President may approve. He shall deposit all
moneys received in such bank in Boston as the
Finance Committee shall direct to the credit of the Corpor-
ation, and all checks for moneys drawn from the bank
shall be signed by the Treasurer and countersigned by
one or more of the Committee of Finance, ^and in the absence of said Corp. by one or more members of the Board _ He shall,

under the direction of the Committee of Finance, invest
the surplus moneys, keep proper books of account,
and quarterly, at the first meetings of the Trustees in the
months of January, April, July and October, be shall
lay before the Board a balance sheet showing the
transactions of the quarter prior to the first day of
the current month; and also a statement in detail
of the balances held by the Corporation for the repair of
