Tenure & Division of Lots. Report of Comtee Record amended. See p. 167.

A Report was received from the Committee consisting
of the Committee on Lots and Mr Choate in respect to the
tenure and the division of Lots; stating the opinion of the Com-
mittee to be that the provisions of the charter declaring Lots
to be indivisible would preclude "the division of a Lot by a
proprietor in any manner, without the assent of the Corpo-
ration," but that under the power of the Corporation to buy and
sell land such a division might be legally effected if deemed
expedient, – the question of expediency not being considered
by the Committee as before them under the submission."
