Mount Auburn Regulations.

It having been brought to the Knowledge of the
Trustees, that various depredations have been
of late committed upon the flowers & shrubs at
Mount Auburn; & that large Parties have as-
sembled within the grounds with refreshments
& for purposes utterly [uncomfortable?] with ^those the pur-
poses to which the grounds are devoted, the Trus-
tees have been obliged to adopt the following ad-
ditional Regulations, which will be rigidly en-
forced

(1). No Refreshments, & no party carrying refresh-
ments,shall ^will hereafter be admitted to come within the
grounds at Mount Auburn.

(2). All persons, who shall be found within the grounds
making unseemly noises, or otherwise conducting
themselves unsuitably for to the purposes to which
[?] ^the grounds are devoted, will be compelled ^required instant-
ly to quit ^leave the same, & upon [referral?] will be
impelled so to do; & will be prosecuted accordingly.

(3). Any Person who shall be found in possession
of flowers or shrubs. while in the grounds or before
leaving them, will be deemed to have ^tortiously taken or
plucked them improperly in the grounds, & will be
prosecuted accordingly - A suitable reward will
be given to any person, who shall give informa-
tion to the Trustees of any such offence, which shall
lead to the conviction of the offender-

(4). The Superintendent of the Grounds, the Gatekeeper
& any other person acting under them, shall have
a right to require ^ his or her name from any person - other than
a proprietor or ^ or member of his family, [?] ^ who shall visit
