Dear Sir:
I inclose two photographs of the Statue of John Adams, which you were kind enough to commission me to execute. You will observe that I have followed my sketch pretty closely, only making such changes and improvements as all artists ought to make upon their first studies. It has been seen during the winter by a great many Bostonians and as far as I can learn has been highly spoken of by all.
I have already purchased the block of marble, and shall commence blocking it out as soon as the model is sufficiently dry, which will be in

the course of a week or ten days.
I have drawn on the Mount Auburn cemetery company, through Packenham Hooker & Co, according to contract, for the sum of fifteen hundred dollars, that being the second payment on the statue.
Mr Crawford has finished the Otis . He leaves tomorrow morning for America.
Yours very truly Randolph Rogers
