Dea. Chas D Gould

Dear Sir,

I find from ref-
erence to the clause of the late Benj.
Bradley's
will relating to the lot at Mt
Auburn, the guaranty is not required
of the Corporation, but to expend the in-
come as may be needed.

There is no objection there to the
acceptance of the $500 now, if the
exrs are ready to pay it.

Please show me a copy of the
will, and I will prepare the con-
tract.

If the monument is added at any
time it will make no difference.
The Corporation is only obliged to expend
the income.

Please give me the names of the exrs.

Truly yours

A.J. Coolidge

A philatelist friend told me the "stamps" that are always being referred to were required on legal documents. The US government sold them to raise money to pay for the Civil War. I believe my friend said they were in use until @1871.
