Since the year 1858, I find
no report of this fund. -

I cannot account for the
slight variations in the fund
from 1855 to 1858, unless the
Treasr was in the habit of
crediting income, & then receiving
debiting the fund with bills
for cleaning marble. Whether
this has been the practice
I am not aware; if so,
the charge would seem to
have been about equal to
the income. -

Very Respy yours

Dear Sir,

The Counsel of Amos L.
Wood
against whom we have a bill
for 157.12 for grading lot Octo. 1864,
has called upon me this p.m., & says if we
can show that W. ordered the work, he will not
resist the claim.

Will you please look at the book,
and recall what you can. Either by con-
versation with Mr. Barker or anyone else that
has any knowledge of it, & write me the
result.

I had some conversation with you here
the other day of the matter; and ask you
to look the matter over because you are
where your books & letters are, & will more
readily recall facts there. -

Please write what you are able to prove
either from documentary or oral evidence

Respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge
