Col. Henry Lee Jr --

Dear Sir,

Your note respecting the lot of
the late Pierce Butler &c. is recd.

I enclose the usual form of transfer, which
will be found in blank on the 3d page of the
deed of his lot (434) if said deed can be found.

If Mr Butler left a will, it should first
appear from it who are the heirs to the lot. As
lots in the Cemetery are declared by the Charter
to be real estate, it would pass (if not specifically
mentioned) either under a general clause or a residu-
ary clause. A copy of so much as covers this
ground attested by the Recorder, with the date of
the instrument, and of registration, would be all that
we should require to ascertain who are the heirs.

If he died intestate, then let the heirs in making
conveyance to Mrs Kemble (if that course is desired)
refer to the fact in the ^blank transfer sent or the other if found.

In either case, they would use the blank transfer.
If the claim under the will, they would use some such
clause as this: "Know all men" &c "that we, _____ of ____
____ of ____ &c ^[residuary heirs] devisees under the will of P.B. late of " &c --
If no will, "that we, ___ ___ ___ being the children &
only heirs at law of P.B. late of who died intestate," --
