W.F. York Esq

Dear Sir,

Your reply of to my request to pay bill of $12.55
in connection with lot of Mrs L.G. Towne
I have referred to the Supt, & he states
that the work was done by your order,
& it is the invariable custom for the
party who sets a monument or stones to
pay for cleaning up & new sodding re-
quired by the activity. I have just rendd
a bill to Mr McDonald amounting to
more than $100 for such work & he says
it is all right.

The new sodding &c on Mrs Towne's
lot was required by your setting the mon-
ument. I don't see with what propri-
ety we could ask her to pay for bill
of this work. The contract for monument & setting
properly include all here charged you. Please send
amount with bill.

Resp.y yours

A.J. Coolidge Treasr

H. Lamson Esq

Dear Sir,

I enclose the
deed of lot 3556 for you to execute
the transfer to the Hadley heirs at
the request of Mrs Howe the one who
takes the most interest & pays the
bills. As you have repeatedly
told me that you have nothing
to do with the lot & the estate
is now settled, you will no
doubt be glad to get it off your
hands.

You can sign, & acknowledge be-
fore some neighbor of yours who
is a Justice of the Peace, & return
the deed to me at 16 Pemb-
erton Square, Boston.

Yours Respy

A.J. Coolidge
