Walter Hastings Esq.

Dear Sir

I called at your
office today but did not find you.
The posts are being set, the delay
having been, in waiting for our
surveyor to stake the right points.

I can find no charge against
you for any tulip trees - only
for some magnolias - It has been
too dry this spring to do anything
about them, & therefore I have
been waiting till I happen to
see you again.

Respectfully
J.W. Lovering
Supt

H.W. Longfellow Esq.

Dear Sir

We have made up
our minds to make the alterations on
the stone formerly used & have some
copies struck off if it can be done
at about your figures to me. Will you
therefore please see the stone report.

I understand it is at the City Hall
Boston, and by requiring at our
Boston Office 16 Pemberton Sq. either
the Secy or Treasr will give you any
information regarding it which they
can. I would like to hear from you
soon, as we are prepared & desirous
to go ahead if the stone will answer.

Respectfully
J.W. Lovering Supt
