Dear Sir

I find the number
can be taken off the gate without
much trouble. The best way to
fix the monuments will be to sink
a panel in the marble to take out
the present wrong number, and to
cut the proper number in the base
of monument. This can be done
for from $3 to $5. If you wish me to
fix it in this way please let me
hear from you & if not, let me
know how you want it altered.

Your favor of the
[?] inst rec'd.

The charge for 1874 for care &
plants will be the same as for 1873
viz $5. & top dressing will be
$1.50 extra same as this year

I am sorry that your lot was
not taken care of in a satisfactory
manner. I will call the gardener's
attention to it & hope it may [?]
next season. If you will drop me a
line any time when you do not find
me, it will be promptly attended to
