Dear Sir:

As my letter of the 12^th inst
has not been answered, on account I presume
of its not reaching you I will repeat it
to your present address.

"I find the number can be taken off
the Gate without much trouble.

The best way to fix the monument will be
to sink a panel in the marble to take
out the present wrong number, and to cut
the proper number in the base of monument.

This can be done for from $3. to $5. If
you wish me to fix it in this way, please
let me hear from you & if not, then let
me know how you want it altered
