Dear Sir

As I learn that you were
much disappointed on visiting the Cemetery lately,
to find your lot unfinished, I desire to explain
how this happened.

The stone for Mr Carter's lot was received November 19^th &
was set and the sodding finished Nov 27^th and was
one of the last, if not the very last lot sodded last fall
as after December 1^st the weather rarely allows us to
carry on any work requiring sodding.

On the 30^th day of November the stone for your lot was
rec'd and it was set before Dec 11^th.

I should have been exceedingly glad to have finished
the tomb last fall, but the stone was received so late
that it was impossible. It shall be finished early
this spring.

This explanation will I trust be satisfactory.
