Dear Sir

Mr. Cha.^s S. Bates (for the heirs of Martin Bates)
wishes to buy all the land up to your boundary
post in rear of your lot, to be used for
ornamental purposes.

It is customary to offer the land
so intended to the adjacent lot holder before
selling to others though in this particular case
I think Mr. Bates would be somewhat disappointed
if he failed to obtain the Land.

Please advise me immediately.
