Henry C. Davis Esq

Dear Sir

In reply to your letter of the 24th
inst I would say that I know of no way in which
plastering can be put on a tomb, which is at
all durable. I think the plastering cannot be removed neatly.
For a new tomb I should recommend using face
brick, but this could not be used on your tomb
without building the vestibule and that would be
expensive.

I have never seen any marble used, but should think
possibly it might be used as a lining; I should think
the expense of this would be about $450. I think you
could probably get this done cheapest by going directly
to one of the large marble [fe..?] in Boston. If I can
assist you in any way I will do so with pleasure.

Yours very truly

J.W. Lovering Supt.
