Dear Madam,

On Saturday last
in passing your lot I was suspicious
to find some workmen engaged in
removing a tree. As they are not
allowed to remove trees without
permission I spoke to them about it,
and they said you had obtained
permission and directed them to
remove the tree.

Will you be kind enough to give
me the facts and also tell me to
when, if at all, you applied for
permission to remove the tree.
