Dear Sir

I have looked into the matter of the
charge for foundation built in your lot, and find that
the foundation just put down is about 1/8 larger in the top
measurement than that build in [18]78. The price for foundations
has also been advanced since that time from two causes.
1st Labor and material has been advanced in price and
2nd. we found it advisable to build these small foundations
deeper than had been our practice before thus while those
built in [18]78 were 4 foot deep. The foundations for which a bill
was just sent you were 5 foot deep --
