D.W. Hitchcock Esq

Dear Sir

The land about
which you inquire yesterday, has
not been offered for sale in lots
as it is desirable to keep some open
land near the front entrance and
as a drain passes across it some 9 or
10 feet below the surface, as shown
by the enclosed plan on which a new
lot has been laid out, next to that
last sold (no #3891). This new lot (not
numbered on plan) contains 300 sq.
ft.

If this lot were sold at all, it would
be with the understanding that no
stonework other than monuments, headstones
or the corner posts set by the Corporation to
mark the lot, be placed there.

The drain is very substantialy built
& covered with heavy stone & would
be several feet below any burial
& would I believe do no damage to
the lot, but I should want you
if you bought the lot to understand that
there was a drain there.

The price of the lot, marked with the
corner posts as set by the Corporation
and with the turfing under perpetual
care would be $1500.

There are numerous lots in other parts
of the cemetery which as lots, are quite
as desirable, which I could sell you
for considerably less.

Ys very truly
J.W. Lovering
