Mrs. J. E. Neale.

Dear Madam

The gardener has
looked at the ivy on your lot #3225
and says he does not think he can make
it grow outside in the winter as they
are not at all hardy. Yours Resp'y

Genl J. F. Head,

Washington D. C.

Dear Sir:-

The enclosed bill has been forwarded to me by our
Treasurer
with the request to send you an explanation as to the
plants charged. These plants were ordered for this year only, by
a lady who came here I think to inspect a monument, the order on
file here was signed for you by Col A. A. Rand of Boston.

There is no order for topdressing, nor is it charged in
this bill. Am I to understand your note as ordering it now?

Respectfully yours,

Supt.
