Boston Sept. 16 th 1878

James W. Lovering, Esq.
Supt. of Cemetery Mt. Auburn

My Dear Sir:

I wish
to make an estimate of the length of iron
pipe required to pipe the following aven-
ues in the N.E. section of the Cemetery --
Garden to Maple 1361 -- Maple to Halcyon 325 --
Halcyon to Fountain 688 -- Sycamore to Garden 415 -- Ash from Sycamore
to Fountain 537 -- Yew from Ash to Garden 377 -- (from the gate) I have
measured them on your plan. Scale
80 feet to the inch, but I wish to have
your figures, as I may not have done
it correctly - Fountain Avenue was not
estimated, as I think it is already piped.
If the trustees will consent, and I can
raise money enough to procure the pipe
and necessary hydrants, will you
