(March 3, 1783–July 29, 1851) Served as a trustee of the Cemetery from 1831 to 1833. American soldier, lawyer, author, statesman, founding member and the first President of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society (1829-1834). Listed in the 1838 and 1849 Catalogue of proprietors as the proprietor of [[Lot 363]] but is buried elsewhere
