My dear Sir,

I send you 50 proprietors tickets.

Also deeds for Duncan Bradford, Esqr, Mary A. Faden, and of Passageway to Eunice M. Gridley

The deed ordered in name of Charlotte Oxnard cannot be made without putting the title of the lot in her name. By referring to the catalogue you will perceive she only represents it. I believe J. Ingersoll Bowditch is one of the Trustees under the wills - a man impatient of forms - and I should not be surprized if he shd refuse to do anything about it. The addition should be conveyed to the party in whom the legal estate of the lot has vested.

Is there not some mistake about the passagway to B.A. Gould which Mr Mann has described? I remember that in Mr. Gould's lifetime this whole space about 9 to 11 ft. was divided between Mr G. & Dr. Bigelow, and you will see on the catalogue that each has 85 [ft?]. It may that ^ Mr Mann he has discovered more land.

Dear Sir,

Will you please examine the lots described on the accompanying blanks, -457, 479 & 480, - and send me the blanks filled out. Also state what in your judgement should be charged for the perpetual care of each. We are aware that they are in the same enclosure, but the contracts, if made, must be distinct.

Henry Emerson Esq

Dear Sir,

When you last called at my office about the bill due to Mt Auburn, you said you would see Mr. Mann the Supt, and attend to it. This was some months since. I have asked the Supt several times if you had seen him, and he said , no; and that he did not consider that he had anything to do about bill placed in my hands for collection.

I must consequently again call your attention to this unsettled account, and request that you neglect it no longer.

Your note of is before me—in which you say—this "I shall be absent for about a week longer, after which time will see you."

Twenty Eight days or four weeks have elapsed without your fulfilling this promise—like many that have gone before it. Now this may all be innocent enough on your part, but I have come to the opinion that it is mere imposition, and unworthy of both of us. You have, at various times, intimated that you were ready to arrange a place for gradual payment; and this you have totally neglected.

I shall bring the matter to the attention of the Trustees next Monday, and let them say what they think should be done.

Dear Sir,

Will you please enclose Mr. Raymond's bill which I left with you as he has called for them. I met Mr. Apple and he insists that he took care of the lot for the years '58, '59 and '60. If that is so, then $2 should be refunded from what the Corporation has received on the '57 bill paid twice.

I wish also you would make out a bill of $15 (I think it was) charged some two or three years since against Mr John [N.?] Brown of Charlestown, for foundation to monument &c.-lot 888- The bill has been lost and I would like another with the date and charge.

My dear Sir,

The Committee on Lots of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, have directed me to inform you that the Corporation will contract to keep in perpetual repair and preservation lots numbered 457, 459 and 480 in the Cemetery as the lowest rate fixed by the By-laws, viz. there hundred dollars for each lot.

Dear Sir,

You will remember that you once called at my office in reference to a suppozed encroachment of the Supt of Mt Auburn upon your lots. It now appears that he had done so, and I see by the order of the Treasuser upon me for a new deed to you, that it is proposed to correct the mistake by refunding to you the price of the land which has been taken.

I have made a deed to you of 470 ft. Please bring to me your old deed, and reconvey of the Corporation, and take the new deed.

Dear Sir,

A long, long time ago you were to let me know about making a deed of the space around your lot- to whom the deed should be made. The year is just departing, and I wish to finish every old matter. I cannot help charging you with some negligence; for it was well understood between us that the thing should be finished up when last I saw you.

Will you attend to it this week.

Mr. A. O. Lindsey Charlestown

Dear Sir, I see that you do not yet apprehend the nature of the difficulty in making the deed. It is nothing as to title that your mother was designated to represent the lot -- that does not vest any title in her. I only wish to know the facts. If your father left no will, the deed should be made to the heirs at law. If he made one, just show me a copy, and I will advise you whether it ought to be made in the same way. The deed of the addition should be to the same person or persons that hold the original, by law. Your mother would still represent it, until the appointment should be received.
