school-house to vote in, and Sarah and I had
made our plans to visit some other schools together
but I fear if this storm continues we shall not be
able to – I want very much to go into some
other Primary Schools, and see if the children
behave as badly as mine do -

Tuesday morning I must turn over a new leaf,
and be more particular, My way has been too
much not to notice trifles, but to let them go
on until the room became such a scene of confusion
that I could go on no longer, and then stop, wait
for order, perhaps call out and whip a few of
the most atrocious, then when quiet was in some
degree restored go on once more - I do hope that
I shall do well there - and in the end have a
good school -

Monday, Sept. 13.
The storm abated in some measure before
morning, so that father and mother started
off in good spirits - I suppose that they
are now far on their way. The day has been
very changeable today, sometimes raining pouring,
sometimes almost pleasant - After mother's
departure I superintended the getting of breakfast
which was ready in good season and order, then
as the weather was not favorable for any expedition
to other schools I set about cleaning whatever
