one of them came a special request that I
would not hit her over the head, as she had
sores in her head. I might hit her anywhere
else her brother said -

Sunday, Sept 19.
Went to church this morning and heard one
of Mr Little's excellent sermons from the text
"Take away the stone" - I shall not write it for
I want to put down a little of other things and
dont want to spend much time about it -
Friday forenoon Hatty Brown made a call
at my school-house, and the children improved
the opportunity to train - I wish I had a little
more of something or other, so that I could
speak right out to them, no matter who was
there - Hatty must have been very unfavorably
impressed by my school, for in the afternoon
her little sister told me that she was not
coming any more at present. Friday night there
was a pleasing little district composed to be screamed
in as the door before leaving - It runs thus -

"Goodbye scholars, Goodbye school,
All but the mistress,
And she's a fool – ".

In return for this flattering title I shall keep J.C.
White - Jun and William Chamberlain after school
