I should have my feelings injured -

Yesterday Mr Bartlett was in again, sent three
more to Sarah Freeze, three back to Miss Tibbet's -
and arranged seats for the rest putting only two
in a seat, and arranging the rest around the
sides with chalk marks between them -

Yesterday afternoon a great cooking was to be
done, Mary had to attend to her drawing class
so Hannah and I did the cooking - First I
made some gooseberry tarts, which with the
exception of being a little too salt, and too
hard baked were excellent - Then some nice
cake then some bread which after using a
piece for the dowdy crust, was so nearly
exhausted that I had to make a new
supply - then the squash pies have been as nice
as it is possible for squash pies to be, had
I not wholly forgotten to sweeten them - However
we put the sugar on top, and they were not
by any means bad - Mr Parsons says the
more things go out of the common course
the better - On the whole our baking came out
nicely - Today we have a new trouble which
is keeping me at home this afternoon, and
that is Hannah Burke's being sick – poor girl!
