taken a cut in salary for last year amounting to $815.00. I trust that the cut will not be quite as big for next year.

I trust that you and yours are all well.

With best regards, I beg to remain,

Yours sincerely,

My dear Mrs. Rölvaag, --

I admit that you have reason to be disappointed because I have been tardy in making payments. It is not my nature to be negligent in my financial obligations. I lost almost all we had, -- several thousands of dollars, a few years ago as a result of buying some land. And then came the fearful cuts in salary.

I think, however, that the future looks a little more hopeful than the last two years. And when I get my October check on November 2, I will for sure send the interest and compound interest on the loan. (Over)

And I am hopeful that before so long I will be able to reduce the principal of the loan from time to time.

We are pretty well. My wife has been a good deal bothered with hay fever this fall. Our daughter is attending school for the third year. Time goes.

I have been interested to see Professor Jörgenson's account of his trip to Helgeland, -- to Professor Rölvaag's old home.

Kindest greetings

My dear Mrs. Rolvaag, --

I did not get enough the 2nd to remit, but I will for sure have it so that I may send it the coming Saturday.

Sincerely,

My dear Mrs. Rolvaag, --

I enclose cashier's check for $15.00 as payment of interest on loan till in May last when interest was due. I think interest on $189.00 till then and interest on that interest till now would be about $14.00. Then I enclose the extra dollar as I know you have had troubles in writing and so on. As soon as I possibly can reduce principal I certainly will do so.

Kindest greetings!

A. C. Erdahl
